Abstract
The article analyzes the theoretical aspects of the formation of the mechanism of innovation in small and medium-sized high-tech enterprises (SMEs). The analysis is carried out and precise definitions of the concepts: innovation, innovation activity, innovative development of SMEs are given. The task of domestic economic science is to find mechanisms for the implementation of modern innovation development management in the practice of SMEs in the Russian Federation, systematizing and developing its methodology.
