Abstract
The present communication reports the Sonerila konkanensis Resmi & Nampy (Melastomataceae) plant species is an addition to Karnataka flora, collected from the forest of Shivamogga District, Karnataka, India. It is an endemic species, described from Goa, and hitherto known only from the type locality.
