Abstract
Chitosan is a polysaccharide that has amino and hydroxyl groups and other functional groups that enable functionalization. Schiff bases, which can be identified using 1H NMR, FTIR spectrometry and thermal analysis, can be created when the C2-NH2 group reacts with primary amines.
