THE CONCEPT OF STATE-CIVILIZATION: PROBLEMS OF METHODOLOGY AND POLITICAL IMPLEMENTATION

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to reveal the characteristics of the state-civilization model. The key research method was the classification analysis, which allows to identify the specific features of the state-civilization in comparison with other types of states in the historical context. The author's consideration of models of Russian statehood in the past confirmed his hypothesis about the definition of Russia as a state-civilization. In addition, the author identified external and internal obstacles to the further implementation of the concept of Russia as a state-civilization at the present stage. The author proves the expediency and vital necessity for Russia of restoring this civilizational type of statehood.
