Assessment of cold resistance of metal samples obtained by 3D-printing electric arc surfacing from "Св-08Г2С" welding wire, based on mechanical tests and fractographic studies

Abstract

Mechanical properties and cold resistance of 09Г2С steel are investigated. It is determined that the mechanical properties of samples obtained by electric arc surfacing by 3D-printing on CNC machines differ little from the properties of samples from rolled products and surpass them in ultimate strength and conventional yield strength. The cold resistance of 09Г2С steel obtained by electric arc surfacing is lower than the cold resistance of steel from sheet metal. The results obtained have shown the prospectivity of electric arc surfacing for 3D-printing of billets from coldresistant materials on CNC machines.
