Abstract
Abstract
A number of hypotheses about the mechanism of action of anti-ozonates (AOZ) was verified by experiment. Films and solutions of polybutadiene, and also its mixtures with a model olefin, containing N-phenyl-N′-isopropyl-p-phenylenediamine (PIPP), showed that the ozone reacted first with the PIPP. Kinetic curves of ozone penetration during its reaction with PIPP were plotted at −78° C in solution and the relative reaction rate was determined. PIPP-ozone reaction products were found to contain nitroxide radicals.
