Abstract
Abstract
The temperature coefficient of vulcanization was measured for tread type compounds of present-day polymers, carbon blacks and accelerators. The state of cure was judged by modulus and crosslinking (from swell); the temperature coefficient was measured at 80% of the maximum reached at a standard cure temperature. An expeditious and precise method was developed for calculating the vulcanization coefficient.
