Abstract
Abstract
The basis of the fracture mechanics approach that has been developed for elastomers and the range of phenomena, from tearing to cavitation, to which it has been applied are briefly reviewed. The application of the approach to service and related problems is then considered in somewhat more detail, with particular reference to groove cracking in tires and laminate failure studies.
