Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the leisure management behaviors of university students and the factors affecting.
Methods: The research design was descriptive. The sample of the study consisted of 704 students who took undergraduate education in the field of health in a university. Research data were collected using the personal information form and leisure time management scale. In the statistical analysis of the research data, Independent t Test, Mann-Whitney U test were used for pairwise comparison and Ona-Way Anova and Kruskal-Walls tests were used for comparing multiple groups.
Results: It was observed that the students' mean scores on leisure management were above the average. Among the departments, a difference in sub-dimensions was found between ‘goal setting and method’,‘leisure time attitude’ and “evaluation”. It was determined that there was a significance between the department, level, leisure activities, having a hobby and leisure management attitude of the students.
Conclusions: According to the results of the study, students should be supported in setting goals and planning. Leisure time reflects the subjective quality of life, therefore it is recommended that young people create social spaces and social programs where they can use their free time effectively.
