Examining Career Awareness of University Students Studying in Sport Sciences: Example of Black Sea Region

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the career awareness levels of undergraduate students in sports sciences according to some demographic variables. The general survey model was used in the study. The population of the research consists of 6067 students studying in the field of sports sciences in the state universities located within the borders of the Black Sea region in the 2020-2021 academic year. The research sample consists of 1374 volunteer students selected from the universe by simple random method. The "Vocational Career Awareness Scale" developed by Sunay and Yaşar (2019) was used to measure the career awareness of the participants. In the examination of the data showing normal distribution in our research; descriptive analyses, independent sample t test and one-way analysis of variance (One-way ANOVA) were used. In comparisons between more than two groups with significant differences, Post-Hoc tests Scheffe and Tamhane's T2 were used.
