• Advocate for Structured Exercise Programs: Stress the importance of structured exercise programs in managing chronic diseases, citing well-documented physical and mental health benefits associated with regular physical activity.
• Educate on Exercise Thresholds: Educate clients on the exercise thresholds recommended by the World Health Organization, emphasizing the need for at least 150 to 300 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week, complemented by resistance training and a reduction in sedentary behaviors.
• Tailor Programs to Individual Readiness: Assess clients' readiness to change unhealthy lifestyle habits using models like the Transtheoretical Stages of Change Model, and tailor exercise prescriptions and counseling accordingly to increase the likelihood of successful behavior change.
