The preparation and progestational activity of some 6-alkyl, 21-alkyl and 6:21-dialkyl derivatives of ethisterone are described. 6α:21-Dimethylethisterone (XIV), the most potent compound of the series, given by mouth proved to have approximately twelve times the activity of ethisterone in the Clauberg test.
