Abstract
SUMMARYA case of flexion contracture of the elbow resulting from thrombophlebitis is described. Thrombophlebitis is a recognised complication following cannulation of the antecubital fossa vein. In severe cases a tender fibrous band is palpable. There are no previous reports of a contracture deformity occurring from such a fibrous band. This case therefore presents an unusual clinical manifestation of thrombophlebitis not previously described.
