Abstract

AbstractZika virus is a mosquito‐borne flavivirus which caused major epidemics in the Pacific and the Americas between 2013 and 2015. International travellers have previously acted as a sentinel population for Zika virus transmission in endemic areas, where local transmission may be incompletely captured by local surveillance systems. We report five recent European travellers returning from Thailand with Zika virus infection, highlighting the risk of ongoing endemic transmission in this popular tourist destination.
