Abstract
Qalang Smangus is an aboriginal village in Taiwan which has been organised as a collective. Observing that this community is under-represented in scholarly literature in general, and anarchist literature in particular, this article describes the history and formation of Smangus, makes
a case for identifying it as an intentional Christian anarcho-collectivist community, assesses its success, and identifies its current and future challenges. The article concludes with a call to action for anarchist scholars to study Smangus further as an example of successful aboriginal anarchism.
