Abstract
Evidence was obtained for enolase activity in cell-free extracts of 12 species of marine planktonic algae belonging to the classes Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Cryptophyceae, and Myxophyceae. By the test methods used, no activity could be detected in a coccolithophorid and a dinoflagellate.
