Abstract
Stopping powers have been measured for 4He, 16O, and 35Cl ions at energies of ~1 to ~3 MeV per nucleon in Ni, Ge, Y, Ag, and Au foils. The absolute accuracy is of the order of ± 4%. The results are compared with the semiempirical values tabulated by Northcliffe and Schilling and with previous experimental values.
