Abstract
The morphology of 16 species of the genus Clavellopsis Wilson, 1915 (Copepoda: Siphonostomatoida: Lernaeopodidae), as presented by the literature, is examined and their generic affinity reconsidered. Seven nominal and one unnamed species are transferred to the genus Clavellotis Castro and Baeza, 1984. One species (C. parasargi) becomes the type of a tentatively proposed new genus, Pseudomixtio, one (C. laciniata) remains in the genus Clavellopsis, and one (C. johnii) is moved to the genus Neobrachiella Kabata, 1979. Lack of information does not allow any conclusion to be reached on the five remaining species.
