Abstract
Beauveria caledonica sp.nov. is described from moorland soil in Scotland. The species is characterized by short-cylindrical conidia borne in acropetal sequence from conidiogenous ceils that elongate sympodially to form a long denticulate rachis. Occurrence of the species was negatively correlated with cellulolytic activity in the soils studied.
