Abstract
Defoliation by the Douglas-fir tussock (Orgyiapseudosugata (McDunnough)) moth resulted in a reduction of total tree reserve energy, in the form of starch, proportional to the intensity of defoliation. This reduction was significantly less on a site with faster growing trees.
