Abstract
Benzosuberone (5) has been converted via the tricyclic ketone 3-oxo-1,2,3,7,8,9,10,10a-octahydrocyclohepta[de]naphthalene (7) and the tetracyclic ketone 1-oxo-1,2,3,4,4a,5,6,6a,7,8,9,10-dodecahydrodicyclohepta[de,ij]naphthalene (14) into 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10-octahydrodicyclohepta [de,ij]naphthalene (16).
