Evidence for lack of relationship between Canadian cucumber necrosis and tobacco necrosis viruses

Abstract

Serological comparisons between the Canadian cucumber necrosis virus (CNV) and a tobacco necrosis virus (TNV) isolated in Ontario showed that these viruses are unrelated. Differences in particle size (CNV = ca. 31 mμ; TNV = ca. 26 mμ) and sedimentation constant (CNV = S20 w 133; TNV = S20 w 116) also distinguish them.
