The 235U − 207Pb and 238U − 206Pb Mass Differences

Abstract

The Harvard University mass spectrometer with the lock-in amplifier method of peak matching has been used to measure the mass differences 235U − 206PbC2H5, 238U − 206Pb32S, 238U − 235U, and 206PbH − 207Pb. The mass differences 235U − 207Pb and 238U − 206Pb derived from the data are compared with the values obtained using the total energies released in the respective decay series.
