Abstract
One of the implicit assumptions of the sampling with partial replacement (SPR) technique is that the sample units are of the same size, shape, and structure. When this assumption is not satisfied, a simple transformation of the sample size values may sometimes be sufficient to make the SPR formulae applicable. These transformations may be determined from past studies with similar inventory data or from additional field measurements taken during the current inventory.
