Conidial states of some species of Diatrypaceae and Xylariaceae

Abstract

Anamorphs of Cryptosphaeria vicinula, Eutypella angulosa, Eutypa spinosa, Hypoxylon microplacum, and Graphostroma platystoma are described and illustrated. Percurrent proliferation of conidiogenous cells is reported in H. microplacum, the first association of this kind of proliferation with Hypoxylon. Taxonomic and phylogenetic implications of these findings are discussed.
