Spin- equations with tachyons and complex energies in small external fields

Abstract

One normally identifies the prediction of tachyons with a higher spin problem. We show that the same phenomenon also happens with certain spin-[Formula: see text] equations, in exactly the same circumstances. Furthermore, we prove that these equations also have the defect of possessing solutions with complex energies, even with the smallest external fields. The consequences of these results are analyzed.
