Abstract
Measurements of the conductivity of chlorobenzene in evacuated cells of identical geometry but with different electrode metals have shown that the conductivity measured is dependent on the electrode metal employed. The degree of dependence is more marked and the conductivities are one or two orders of magnitude larger in the presence of air. Preliminary measurements of small discharge currents in a cell with monel metal electrodes are also described.
