Abstract
Panagrellus dubius n. sp., collected from frass of Sternochetus lapathi (L.) from Victoria, British Columbia, is described and figured. The new species differs from others of this genus in extent of bifurcation of the spicules and in having a lightly sclerotized supporting core in the velum of each spicule.Redescriptions of "Anguillula" rediviva (Linnaeus, 1767) by Goodey (1922) and Ruehm (1956) are critically compared and the possibility of their dealing with two species is discussed. P. dubius is compared with redivivus as redescribed by Goodey and by Ruehm. Ruehm's synonymizing of P. Pycnus Thorne, 1938, P. leucocephalus (Steiner, 1936) Goodey, 1945, and P. silusiae (de Man, 1913) Goodey, 1945 with "Anguillula rediviva" is not accepted.
