Abstract
A "halo" type laser system is presented whose radiation is characterized by a propagation planar beam rather than a unidirectional beam. A doubled Nd:glass laser mode-locked picosecond pulse train is used to pump a Rhodamine 6G dye solution filling a cylindrical closed resonator. The laser short pulse train propagates in a plane across 360°, with mrad divergence transversely to the propagation plane.
