Abstract
This paper describes a design method for a narrow-band reflection filter with metal layers. The principle used is the theory of induced transmission, with the help of graphic displays. The conditions, at which the maximum values of the reflectance, the potential transmittance, and the energy transmittance of the filter occur simultaneously when the absorptance reaches a minimum at the design frequency, are described. Several designs of high reflection filters with narrow bandwidths in the IR region are presented.
