Metabolites of pathogenic fungi. VIII.1 – 3 Floccosin and floccosic acid, two metabolites from Epidermophyton floccosum (Harz) Langeron and Milochevitch, 1930

Abstract

Floccosic acid, floccosin, its magnesium complex, and a green iron-containing pigment, floccoviridin, were isolated from E. floccosum. Structure 7 is proposed for floccosic acid, and degradative work defining some of the functions in floccosin as depicted in partial formula C is described.
