Abstract
Sporodiniella umbellata Boedijn, a mucoraceous entomogenous fungus, is redescribed and illustrated. The species is validated by designating a neotype. The fungus was regularly collected on various arthropod hosts in Ecuador, predominantly on insects of the family Membracidae (Homoptera) associated with cocoa farms.
