Abstract
Dielectric loss measurements on some aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes in solution were made. The microwave frequency range was 10–260 GHz and the polar solutes were dissolved at very low concentration in cyclohexane. The mean relaxation times were determined and a resolution was attempted. For substances whose molecules have a relatively rigid main body, the experimental data could be fitted using two relaxation times. For nonrigid chain molecules, the continuous Fröhlich distribution was necessary.
