Abstract
Charm changing parity violating (pv) weak decays of 1/2+ baryons are studied in the channel (1/2+ → 1/2+ + 1−). We compare the decay amplitude relations in Left [Formula: see text] Left and Left [Formula: see text] Right current–current interaction pictures in SU(4). We further extend these considerations to SU(8), thereby introducing quark spin. We notice that the B(3) → B(6) + V(8) mode, forbidden in the Glashow–Illopoulos–Maiani (GIM) scheme, arises through a right-handed current (RHC) interaction, whereas B(3) → B(8) + V(3*) vanish independently of the nature of the weak current.
