Abstract
An integral equation method for dealing with laminar radial inflow of a compressible fluid between closely-spaced discs is presented. The fluid is assumed to undergo an isothermal process and the viscous loss engendered during the process is taken into account by means of a dissipation function. The resulting non-linear integral equation was solved by using either the Runge-Kutta method or the Bernstein quadrature. Comparison with the previous work shows that the present investigation is equally in agreement with experiments.
