Abstract
The transport of sugars or amino acids in various mammalian and bacterial preparations is inhibited by a limited number of structural analogues of the substrate under investigation. Factors which affect the transport of one class of substrates may have little effect on another class of substrates, indicating that highly specific systems are involved in transport.
