Abstract
The basic theory of intensity modulated light techniques is extended to consider the effect of temperature on the amplitude response, and it is shown that this may be used to obtain trap energies and densities. It is demonstrated that the temperature variation method is more sensitive than the usual light intensity variation method. The effects of a light intensity (carrier density) dependent mobility on the photoresponse are investigated, and the results for three different possible trap distributions are discussed. These latter effects may be observed in their characteristic a.c. photoresponse.
