Abstract
A heterologous radioimmunoassay using ovine LH as the labelled hormone, canine LH as the standard, and a rabbit antiovine LH serum (GDN 15) was developed and validated for LH measurement in the plasma of two seasonally breeding animals (induced ovulators). Physiological validation of the assay was evidenced by the increase in LH levels after LHRH injections and castration. In the hare, the longer the time after castration, the higher the cumulative response of LH after LHRH stimulation.
