Abstract
The 0–0 band of the [Formula: see text] system of oxygen has been recorded in emission using a Bomem Fourier transform spectrometer. Five branches are observed with ΔJ = 0, ±1, ±2. The relative intensities of the branches agree with those calculated for an electric quadrupole transition.
