Abstract
Buffer-soluble proteins from 10 isolates of Verticillium dahliae and 22 isolates of V. albo-atrum were separated by acrylamide gel-electrophoresis. Isolates within a species produced essentially identical patterns but V. dahliae patterns were distinctly different from those of V. albo-atrum. These results support the view that V. dahliae and V. albo-atrum should be considered as separate species.
