SYNTHESIS IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF BINARY COMPOUNDS OF THE TRANSITION METALS WITH GROUP VA AND VIA ELEMENTS

Abstract

Some of the compounds in the systems Cu/Se, Cu/As, Cu/Sb, Ni/Se, Ni/As, Ni/Sb, and Ni/Bi have been synthesized by precipitation from aqueous solutions, following procedures similar to those described by Kulifay. The precipitates were finely divided and of relatively low purity. No new compounds were observed. None of the compounds in the Fe/As and Co/As systems were obtained, nor were any intermediate phases formed in the systems Fe/Bi, Co/Bi, and Cu/Bi.
