Abstract
Investigations were made on the ecology and population dynamics of cyclopoid Copepods found in seven major types of mosquito larval breeding habitats in Lower Mauricie, Quebec. The phenology, life cycle and distribution were examined for each of the 15 species present. Results show the Copepod species were distributed according to ecological units. Diacyclops languidus and Acanthocyclops venustoïdes are characteristic of ecological units with peat moss substrate. None of the Copepod species showed a clear dominance in the riparian habitats. The samples are clearly divided among four groups according to seasons and pH values, as shown by the table of abundance–dominance indexes and a factorial analysis of correspondence.
