Abstract
π−–12C and π±–16O elastic scattering cross sections are calculated around the P33 resonance and results are compared with experimental data in the small scattering angle region. Novel features of the present calculations are the inclusion of the Coulomb interaction by a momentum space method which is based on the recently proposed coupled integral equations formalism, and the use of the more elaborate nuclear scattering matrix element which is calculated from the multiple scattering theory.
