Synthetic studies related to CP-225,917 are described, including the preparation of the fully oxygenated tetracyclic central core 3.Key words: CP-225,917, siloxy-Cope rearrangement, Cope rearrangement, strain-assisted rearrangement, furan, ruthenium dioxide, bridgehead olefin.
