Internal Substitution of 5α-Lanostane on C-5, C-6, and C-8

Abstract

Thermolysis of 3β-acetoxy-11-oxolanostan-7α-yl azidoformate gave the cyclic carbamate of 3β-acetoxy-5α-amino-11-oxolanostan-7β-ol (9%) and the corresponding 6α-amino (52%) derivative. 3β-Acetoxy-11-oxolanostan-7β-yl azidoformate gave the cyclic carbamate of 3β-acetoxy-6α-amino-11-oxolanostan-7β-ol (52%) and the corresponding 6β-amino (26%) and 8β-amino (7%) derivatives. Some features of the l3C.m.r. and c.d. spectra of the above compounds and related steroids are described.
