Abstract
By enclosing wheat in a cylinder and heating by means of a wire stretched along the axis, the thermal conductivity k and the thermal diffusivity κ are determined. From the values obtained for these two quantities the specific heat is calculated. The following values are obtained: [Formula: see text]; κ = 0.00115 cm.2 per sec., and c = 0.37 cal. per gm. per °C. By the use of these values of the thermal constants, an estimate is made of the effect of external changes on the temperature within stored wheat.
