Abstract
The life history and developmental morphology of Placoconus lotoris are described and similarities with other hookworms noted. Infection takes place by the oral route without somatic migration. Experimental infection by the percutaneous route was unsuccessful. After infection, the parasitic stages migrate posteriorly along the small intestine coincident with maturity. The adult worms favor a location in the posterior region of the small intestine.
