First quantization of the spinning string

Abstract

The dual model of Neveu and Schwartz and of Raymond gives rise to the spinning string. Using a technique introduced by Rhorlich for the ordinary free string, we perform a first quantization of this spinning string. It is found that the procedure is covariant in any dimension with arbitrary Regge intercept.
