Abstract
In 1 of 384 cytologically analyzed specimens of the polymorphic fish Gobius paganellus a new type of chromosome was observed. On the basis of the conventional and C-banding analysis, centromeric–telomeric fusion, involving the heterochromatin, of two different acrocentrics is suggested to be responsible for the observation.Key words: Gobiidae, tandem fusion, heterochromatin.
