Abstract
Electron microscopic investigations show that the hyphae and germinating spores of Cunninghamella echinulata (Thaxt.) Thaxt, usually contain Golgi apparatus consisting of single cisternae that are similar in structure to those of other fungi. Sometimes these cisternae show a tendency towards stacking. The Golgi cisternae exhibit a close relationship with endoplasmic reticulum and are involved in the synthesis and transport of polysaccharides. They appear to be the site of endomembrane differentiation.
